Classes

Students enrolling in group lessons must meet all prerequisites. Stop by the Athletic Club office, call (412) 462-3444, ext. 2, or email nfassinger@carnegieofhomestead.org  for more information.

Schedule

Class sessions are offered in the winter, spring, summer, and fall. Visit our Facebook page for the most up-to-date schedules. Each session includes six 30-minute classes.

Cost

$10/child if you live in 15120, 15122, or 15207

Class Types

Pre-School (Ages 3-5)

No prior experience required. This class focuses on body position/control, directional change, and forward movement in water. Students will learn safety skills and develop stamina needed for future progress in swimming.

Beginner (Ages 5-8)

No prior experience required. This class focuses on stroke introduction. Students will continue to strengthen existing skills while learning efficient ways of moving through the water. Water safety is reinforced through treading water and survival/resting strokes.

Intermediate (Ages 8+)

This classes focuses on stroke development and refinement. Students will work on stroke technique and building endurance.

Jump Start Sports

Hummingbirds Soccer

Children ages 3-5.5 have fun and learn the basics of soccer in an age-appropriate program. Players learn dribbling, passing, trapping, shooting, defending, and positioning. Each session consists of instruction in all aspects of the game; participation in fun drills designed to teach skills; and fun, non-competitive games.

Fee: $60, includes t-shirt and award
Little Hoop Stars & Hoop Stars Basketball

Jump Start Sports coaches will run this highly instructional and recreational basketball program for children in Pre-K (must be four years-old) through grade 2. Players are taught the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning, defense, ands rebounding, and apply what they have learned in fun, non-competitive games.

Fee: $50, includes t-shirt and award

Youth Baseball
